Ice hockey notebook: O'Connell is ahead of schedule; Marriotts Ridge faces key loss

Before being hired, Phil "Flip" Collins laid out for his potential employers a three-year plan that would make traditionally basketball-focused O'Connell into an attractive destination for local hockey talent. The goal was to offer an opportunity to play all of the best competition the area has to offer. A month into Collins' second year behind the bench, the Knights are ahead of schedule.
